For Milwaukee County Youth
Student Government Day
Each year the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors and the American Legion host Student Government Day. The purpose of this program is to increase student interest in government and citizenship, one of the principle goals of the County Board and the American Legion.
Nineteen area high school students participate in a daylong event where they are paired with the nineteen members of the County Board. The students will sit with a County Supervisor during the April monthly meeting, enjoy lunch with them and get a behind the scenes tour of County Government.
This year Student Government Day will be on Thursday, March 20, 2008.
