Supervisor Jim Luigi Schmitt, 19th District

Jim "Luigi" Schmitt is serving his third full term as a Milwaukee County Board Supervisor. He was elected in a special election on December 8, 1998 and re-elected in 2000, 2004 and 2008. The 19th District encompasses two-thirds of the City of Wauwatosa, seven wards in West Allis, two wards in the City of Milwaukee and the entire City of West Milwaukee.

Supervisor Schmitt is currently Chairman of the Intergovernmental Relations Committee and a member of the Finance and Audit Committee and the Economic and Community Development Committee. For a number of years, he has served on the Board of Directors for the Milwaukee County Historical Society, the Milwaukee County Research Park and more recently on the Milwaukee County Public Museum.

Active in his community, Supervisor Schmitt served on the Wauwatosa Millennium Committee and served as Chairman of the New Year's Eve Afternoon Community Celebration at Hart Park Pavilion. He is also a member of Christ King Parish in Wauwatosa, the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce, the West Allis-West Milwaukee Chamber of Commerce, and the Pasadena Neighborhood Association. He holds a Bachelor degree in political science from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN and a Master's degree in political science from UW-Madison.

Supervisor Schmitt is a lifelong county resident. He is married to Sue and they have four adult children.
